Uzbekistan

I'm about to head back to Kazakhstan today. My plan was going well in Tashkent and after I arrived here on Tuesday afternoon.

Wednesday was all about sightseeing and then Thursday I could spend the day using the computer to do all the things I needed and wanted to do. Alas this plan didn't work out as the Internet at the place I'm staying went down all day yesterday. The owner said it might come back on and it did do for about 5 minutes in the evening but I guess it just wasn't meant to be.

So I'm off again today, here are some pictures of Tashkent and hopefully I can also post up some of the blogs I managed to write yesterday.

Just a quick blog entry today to say that I’ve arrived in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

It took me about a week in the end to ride from Almaty and I arrived here a day before the first 30 days of my Kazak visa ran out.

I’m staying in a nice guesthouse and will be here until Friday when I’ll head back into Kazakhstan. As you can see I do have the Internet so I’ll be aiming to update what’s been going on since I left Almaty.

In brief it’s been:

1) exceedingly hot
2) incredibly bumpy
3) some gorgeous countryside which is good for the first few days but somewhat boring after a while.
4) lots of wild camping and not a lot of washing

So now I’m here I’m looking forward to taking it easy for a few days, catching up with what has been going on in the world and making plans for the next stage of the journey.
